Just been reading about this.
Is it a definite? Or just one of the options available to the OR?
Is it just me that finds the idea of the tax man essentially paying my creditors strangely satisfying?

They are doing that with my OH as he doesn't have enough surplus to qualify for an IPA.
It's an option, as is an IPA.

It depends at what point in the tax year you go BR. It takes a while to set up so say if you opt for BR Dec/Jan it may be too late. It's your money that is being paid, it just gets diverted from HMRC to the ORBR 18 Oct 2006 Discharged 16 April 2007 :T0

You get it in your pay packet but you then pay it to the OR. But yes, obviously it's your money going to your creditors but the tax man isn't getting anything because of that.:: BCSC #71 but now discharged! ::0
