I am new here and know theres a wealth of knowledge so just looking for some useful info please.
Basically i want to get a £12,000 loan in August for a large purchase i want to make. I was thinking of asking my bank for this.
To let you understand during most of my 20s i stayed at my boyfriends house and was not on the electoral register, nor did i have any credit. He paid all the house so i had my full wage so never ever any need for anything. I only realised how much this actually goes against you.
So as it stands now i have been on the electoral register for nearly 3 years.
I have 2 catalogues
1 store card
1 mobile phone
1 current account.
My oldest account is 2 years 8 months old and youngest around 9/10 months.
I have 2 settled credit cards accounts
3 settled mail order accounts and 1 settled current account.
No late payments no ccjs defaults anything at all like that and no credit searches in last 6 months.
Using around 55% of my avaliable credit and currently owe around £3500.
My salary is £28,000 i am 31, sorry to be so long winded just wanted to give a very clear picture of my situation and get peoples thoughts, i have been with my bank 7 months, always carry a balance and have a svaings account with them and have ran it perfect no issues never overdrawn etc.
So do you think i have any chance based on that info any comments would be much appreciated thanks :T

Depends what the loan is for. How much do you have left at the end of each month? Long winded but missing vital information.
Sounds fairly high risk to me. Short credit history, You owe £3500, How long in the job?
How long do you want the loan over?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

I wanted the loan over 4/5 years therefore working out about £260 per month.
So you don't basically see me getting approved then. What would i need to do in order to improve that ?0 -
You will have almost £3k saved up by August (assuming you have been wasting that £400 per Month away before now), do you really need £12k by then?0

That's much more like it. There is nothing drastically wrong from the info you have provided but as you have recognised, there simply isn't too much history available.0

If you had started to pay the 3.5k off last month using the spare 400 you might not have needed a loan, might have been a squeeze but with some cutting back you could of cleared it.0
