I was made bankrupt nearly seven years age. I waited patiently for the six longs years to pass . I then applied to Experian to get my credit report to see that it was finally clean again. It wasn`t.
To my horror I found that one of my creditors had filed a default against me months after I was declared bankrupt. How that can happen I don`t know. At such a late stage I thought it would be simplier to just wait for the extra months. It was a hard pill to swallow after six long years though. Eventually it did though, I got my credit report and finally it is clean again.
So now the long road back has begun for me to get a good credit history again.I applied for and was accepted for an Aqua card. I got it this morning and have just activated it. The next thing I am going to go for is a full bank account, but that will be some time in the future - don`t want to rush things now !
Anyway I just wanted to say this to all who have, or are about to go BR , it`s hard, I know. But somehow you do get through it eventually though - so dont give up. Just take one small step at a time.
Lots of good advice on here, only wish I had found the site years ago though.
