Good advice. I do feel however I have been wronged. also the fact that my employer believes I have broken fire evacuation procedures will now be held in my record which I wouldnt be happy about.

Put it into perspective - will this have a negative impact on your future with the company? Very unlikely. If you start complaining, will it have a negative impact on your future? Yes, quite possibly.
  • Guys thanks for the replys so far. I very much appreciate them.

Certainly the feeling im getting so far is chalk it up to experience and move on. maybe I should do just that.

This above all other advice is what you should take on board OP. There is nothing more certain to get your name first on the big red list of possible redundancies than making yourself a name as a pain in managements behind.

I understand why you feel upset OP. However, they have now officially dropped it and you have not been officially sanctioned. Let it be. (whilst also figuring out how to exact terrible yet untraceable revenge on he/she who has wronged you obviously).

Thats another part of this. a lot of other staff members were re-entering the building. there were no designated staff present to relay it was safe to enter again.

The person who reported me appears to have sinlged me out. I had a colleage right beside me at the time of re-entering. I was called to a meeting, he wasnt. makes me feel like I have been victimised. the colleague with me has made it clear he is prepared to give a witness statement. though thats a fight for another day im thinking.

So what is the new policy? If someone is supposed to give the all clear but that person either hadn't been identified or wasn't present, what were you (and everyone else) supposed to do, hang around outside until it was time to go home?

Could you ask how long it will remain on your record? Maybe you can strike a deal that it is remove after 6/12 months if no other incident takes place?
