Hours reduced to zero

Hello, I'm hoping someone can give me some advice.
I started working for my company on Jan 1st this year after being made redundant. My contract states that I'm working a minimum of 37.5 hours a week which may be increased or decreased to meet the business needs.
The shopping centre has bee very quiet so I dropped my hours to 39 a week to help them out until things picked up, I was off for a few days to move house and when I called to find out my shift the next day I was told that I wouldn't be in as it was really quiet up there.
I offered to reduce my hours to 20 a week to see if this would help and have constantly been told that there is no work as the centre is 'dead'. I was then told I may be able to get a few hours each evening to help clean up etc and to leave it with them and they would sort something out, this was on feb 11th and I have heard nothing since.
I know that the part in my contract about meeting the business needs means they can chop my hours down, but can they really give me zero hours? Any help would be appreciated.

Stop offering to reduce your contracted hours to "help them out" - look whats happened.
You may have a right to a guarantee payment however that may be compromised due to you volunteering to reduce your hours.

I imagine that if you don't do what they want you will be dismissed. But if they're not giving you any hours anyway you may as well spend the time that you're not working looking for another job.0
