    So a 1% fee to and IFA would be 20% of the projected real returns...fund management charges on top of course...

    If I genuinely thought that I could only get a client 5% a year on average before fees, I wouldn't invest on their behalf.

    5% before fees is far lower than the average I've seen for a well-managed portfolio.

    This is hardly the first time the FSA has done something pretty baffling.
