Hi all!

Now, there are many of you who will already know about this,( to whom I apologise!) but this is for the MSE ers who haven't heard of this yet!!

You can find out about this service here: https://www.whatsapp.com/ ( or type whatsapp.com into google )

The service can also be downloaded from googleplaystore

Basically, once downloaded, you can send free texts to anyone else

that has this on their phone ( this includes picture messages!)

Now, though I have some free texts in my current package, it doesn't include pictures & I do send quite a few!!

The service is free to use for the first year, then its approx 70p per year.
Well worth a look at least, and no tie-in or obligation!

Hope this is useful to those of you that have not come across this gem yet!:):):):)

Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere, but I'd not heard of it, so am sure there are others that haven't!!

You can do the same with Skype, or Viber, or Kik, except those are free even after the first year.

whatsapp i think originally bridged the gap between iphones and BB's since BBM and Ping are exclusive. once ppl clocked whatsapp could do pics for free and between systems it became mainstream for everyone. But I still think its mainly android.

They say its 'free for a year, but it's always been free past that. i think only iphone ppl had to pay for it initially for like 69p.

my mate got it yesterday a couple years of me trying to get her on it. now she's like 'OMG why didnt i do this sooner'
  • I have WhatsApp, and as far as it stands for me, its only free to send text messages to other WhatsApp users, so you can't just text anyone. the receiver and sender needs the application.

It also requires the internet to send AND receive, so your basically still paying for your texts. Its just smilier to an email, skype etc.

    does it work on blackberrys?

    Hi,

If you click on the link and scroll down to 'How it works' it mentions that it is available for Blackberrys , as long as the recipient also has whatsapp installed. :)
