Train from Ballymoney to Dublin

Thought would be a nice day out to take kids to Dublin zoo for the day by train - looking at enterprise website seems to £17.99 per person return - cant see a reduced price for kids.

Has anyone discovered any bargains.

There is a £20 family day ticket for the train but only covers Northern Ireland.

Thanks

    found this online ,,,
    How to Get There:
    By bus: There is a choice of buses from Dublin City Centre: 10, 10A (from O'Connell Street), 25, 25A, 26, 66, 66A, 66B, 67, 67A, 68, 69.
By train: DART feeder bus 90 from Connolly Station and Tara Street DART stations.
By tram: LUAS Red Line to Heuston Station.

Emailed train station and got this reply!!

Is it for a day return? If so just buy your Family Day Return ticket from Coleraine Station or from the guard on the train…it will be £85 (2 adult & up 4 children) – this is your best & cheapest option…this particular ticket cannot be purchased online

still works out a pretty expensive day out once you factor in a meal out .

Its a long way for a day trip tbh. Also, its been a while since I was there but I much preferred Belfast zoo.

I know its not what you asked though!
