working in 2 places now only one

Options
Hi you all wonderfull people,
thank you for your continuous support
Sorry if i am in wrong thread
Let me make it short,
I work in 2 places, but from 1st of march i will be working in only in 1.
Lets say my main Job was A, and my secondary job was B (BR tax)
now i will be leaving main Job A and will be working only in Job B.

In tax office Job B is in BR.. so what are my option, can i call them and tell them or write to them, i dont want Job B to let them know that i was working somewhere else before.
i am worried of paying BR (20% taxes) on my only job B

looking forward to hear from you soon.

Once you have got your P45 fromJob A, phone HMRC and ask them to allocate your main tax code to Job B as you will now only have the one job.

It might be easiest to have them do this from the start of the new tax year although it will leave you with an overpayment for this tax year for which you can ask for a refund.

Job B don't need to be told why there is a change of tax code. HMRC will just tell them to use a different code.
  • Surely you must have filled in a P46 when you started Job B and told them this was not your only job, otherwise how did they know to give you a code of BR?
