I used to get cold sores a couple of times a year. I tried all the treatment using creams but they still appeared year after year. It may be a bit late for you now as the cold sore has started to appear, but for the future, I bought this machine http://www.vcs.eu.com/ a few years ago & have never looked back. I have not had any major flare ups in a few years.
When I feel the tingle coming on I use this machine twice a day for 3 days, cold sore does not come to anything.
It is worth spending your money on this rather than buy creams all the time. Plus this has stopped the cold sores in their tracks.
