I hope it all goes well .

  • I don't really go to festivals or parades too often, (never!) but I think I could be tempted to Belfast for this. Hope it does go well, the city needs some more positive promotion, backinbelfast seems to be going really well for the city.

Hope wee willy F doesnt organise "spontaneous" protests against paddy having a beard..
  • Listening to the radio the other day, from what I heard, I believe it is the actual council who are taking over the control of the show this year as opposed to a proper events company in previous years....

So guaranteed it'll all start to get political and it'll all be one great big flop..... Sorry but my confidence in Belfast Council being able to agree on something like this is at the bottom of the barrel !
  • Would be great if it went well. Belfast needs a bit of a boost after the last few months :o

But do tend to agree with warmhands.coldheart...

Nothing wrong with having a Paddy's Day festival. We did it every year in the army and it was great fun.

Can't see Wee Willy waking me with a mug of gunfire though :D

Completely agree, The city could do with a real boost and Paddy's day could do with a bit of a better image too after all the antics etc in the Holylands in the past. Needs to be brought back to being a family occasion and not a legless drinking session. (Why would a nation be so proud of being stereotyped as a buch of pi$$heads I'll never know)
But alas, the divided city council are now involved :( No chance...... Leave event organising to people who know what they are doing !!
