Bankruptcy

I have been declared bankrupt since last year October but still have a company chasing me for a debt that was included with the bankruptcy and despite the debt management company and the official receiver having notified them of my bankruptcy the still send threatening letters and have handed me over to a debt collection agency who are now persuing me for the debt.Any advice as how and who to report them to as I believe this is illegal
Thanks

Just pass the letters onto your OR and maybe give your OR a ring, they will put them straight.

Some creditors think with a bit of harassment and stress, some people will pay, sounds to me they are trying it on.

May not sound it but it's not a good idea for you to talk to them, as the debt is no longer in your control, it's now with your OR, leave all contact to your OR, do not speak to them on the phone apart from to give them your OR's details, I doubt very much anyone will turn up at your door, if they do, again pass them your OR's details and close the door, do not let anyone in, for any reason, not even to use the toilet.

Or, you could seriously waste their time [for which they may well be getting paid huge sums?].....by inviting them in for a coffee and a chat?

By all means do, or say, nothing that will convince them you will not pay a penny......

Then, after an hour or so of encouragement, mention that you cannot pay anything at all as your entire finances are under the control of an Official Receiver.

If they demand proof, tell them to refer to their employer for details....and mention that you will be informing the Official Receiver of their[harassing?] visit, which may well have an adverse effect on their employers Credit Licence.....

Remember, Bankruptcy is a very powerful legal action.

Whatever they tell you is all rubbish...you can feel safe in that knowledge........unless it is to apologise, and wish you Good Bye?

Santander seem to be particularly ignorant on this front.......I get the feeling it's employees are placed under ever-increasing pressure to 'perform'.....?

Which to me, spells impending disaster for the bank as a whole?
