As soon as i have shifted this debt in a few months i am going to be putting away some of the money i have used for the past 6 yrs paying off debt into a pension pot.
I have a small pension running with work, I pay a little over £10 a month and have done for the past 7 yrs, but i want to try and top this up with my own private pension.
Who is the best company to use. I appreciate some companies will not be running in 30 yrs time so i really want to be with a reliable company.
I am turning 30 this year and need to sort something out.
Also can anyone who pays into Tesco staff pension tell me whether Tesco contribute at all?
Thank you

As far as I'm aware the Tesco pension is a defined benefit pension so it doesn't matter what your employer pays as your pension is based on the number of years service and salary.
Are you a member of the career average scheme or the final salary scheme?
How much are you planning to pay into a private pension?0 -

Not 100% what sort of pension im in at work, just took it up as soon as i was offered too. I will have to look into that.
Would only be around £50 a month as i want to start proper savings too for more current things and emergencies0 -

Most personal pensions have a minimum of £100pm nowadays. Anything less and you are really looking at stakeholder pensions. However, perhaps you should look at it a different way. i.e. look at what you want to have in retirement first. See what Tesco provide for you and then see how short you are and look to contribute to fill the shortfall rather than paying a random amount.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
