If you take the side panel off I can assure you it will be cooler. If you enclose something that is hot it will stay warmer. I run sped fan and it always dropped the temp when panel was off.0

As macman was trying to tell you, removing the side panel messes up the airflow. Every case in every PC is designed to take fans in positions where the air will flow into the front, side and top of the case. (in yours it may only be the front and side, varies according to power of individual PC) The cool air passes over components which are hot (CPU, Graphics, PSU) and the warm air is then exhausted from the rear, sometimes also from the top. The fact that Speedfan (Not "spedfan") is showing lower temp's with the panel off, is irrelevant to this system, in fact it is a false reading because you have interrupted the airflow as it is designed. A temperature sensor which is designed to take the reading, is rendered inoperative by this action. They are meant to read the MEAN temperature INSIDE the case, while it is enclosed.
When you say, in reply to my own post, that you "..know about the CPU" what did you mean exactly? I was attempting to answer your own posts, with the best technical information I could offer. I am a system builder in long standing, if you ask a question I will give the fullest answer I can offer. If you did not require the advice, why post?
I'm done here.I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

I was answering the question if I was aware that the CPU was under the heat sink. I simply told the truth and said yes.See the small black square at centre right, with a grey border, above the 2 blue strips? That is where your processor (CPU) sits0
