Hey everyone,
I saw this thread a month or so ago and it inspired me to work out my debt problems. I felt the idea of keeping track of things on here is a good idea so here I am
Thread is trying to pat everything off by lea_t88
I'd like to start off by saying I'm an impulsive buyer at times and sometimes go out of my way to spend.. I don't understand why but I want to get rid of the habit or at least curb it to only cool stuff that I will continue to use and love... Rather than losing by selling on Ebay.
Enough of the boring intro... Here's my situation.
I'm a part time student and part time worker.
I work 3 days a week and go to college 3 days a week.
I want to get rid of my debt but can't work any longer so I have cut spending.
Here's what my current debt is:
£1369.08- Clothing catalogue
£650.00- Phone contract debt
£224- Bank debt
£300- Work debt
£2543.08 Total
I've made a lot of this stuff worse by keeping my head in the sand e.g phone debt was originally £3-400 but since I never replied they brought it to a debt collector who then added fees.
What also doesn't help is that I used to comfort eat a lot and would spend most of my money on junk food. Fortunately I've stopped it by about 90%. I somehow spend that money elsewhere though.
I don't want to go into University with debt but have realised I'll have some left even if I start paying off now... Oh and that large amount to get into University haha..
I am currently starting payments on all debts which are:
£43/month catalogue
£35/month phone
£20/month bank
£25/month work
I'll be out of all the debt in less than 2 years and can hopefully increase payments on some or all ASAP.
I also realised I need cheap thrills so I have a comic book subscription (£8 every 3 months), Money for treat meals (£20 per month) and I bought a midi keyboard (£29) and an old playstation with some games (£40) to keep me busy when I'm not not doing coursework and/or dying of boredom at work.
It shall be a tough one to endure but it has to be done now rather than later.. Silly 21 year old me.
I have bought my last items off of Ebay (Will be closing it once the 30 day period finishes) <(My personal account), I will have to try and find some Sunday job somewhere, save to start selling on Ebay again (Business account) or just simply win the lottery.
Well I have typed a lot and wouldn't be surprised if any of you died reading this.
I feel good because it already feels like a weight has come off my shoulders a bit. I will keep this updated especially when I make some mass payments
Good night
