Broker and agents for offer extension

Hello,

I won't bore you all with our misery at trying to buy and sell. Just a quick question. Our buyer has taken so long that we are now at the exchange point and his offer runs out before the agreed completion date. It is not possible to complete before this runs out. He went back to his broker to get an extension who in turn went to the agent for the lender and the agent ok'd a 2 week extension but he solicitor is jittery about exchanging as the nod is from the agent and not the lender. The solicitor has said he will do some research this weekend to see if that is enough as we really need to exchange by Tues. thought I'd beat him to it and see if anyone else knows or has been in the same position.

Speaking to the lender directly seems the most appropriate channel of communication.

Take control of the situation yourself. As would appear that the issue isn't being dealt with seriously.

Your solicitor is rightly concerned and is protecting you.

It's our buyers lender. Who take an age to do everything. We have no way of going thorough to them they won't talk to anyone except the agent. It's made it a very difficult drawn out process.
