Husband going BR will my personal asset be used?

My DOH is going BR all debts from previous marriage break up and 2 years after we married a house repossession, property in his name only.

My parents recently died and left their property to my brother and I equally. We live in the house and pay rent based on 50% of market value to my brother.

My question is would anyone try to use my asset to cover my husband's debts?

  • NO, no one can touch your assets. Half the house was left to YOU so your husband paid nothing towards it, no claim can therefore be made that he has any beneficial interest in it.
  • Thank you

That's good to know. I was worried as I am unable to work and my DOH pays for all the bills and rent.We live in the property my brother and I inherited.
