in Cutting tax
Hi everyone,
I'd like some advice if possible.
I'm a supply teacher, registered with 2 agencies. I am on BR code for one and on Week one month one code for the other (the Tax office amended it for me).
The agency which I'm on the BR code has now offered me work for the next few months, which means I won't be earning anything from the other agency. Can the tax office change the code for me or do I have to wait until the end of THIS tax year?
Another question I have is that I have done some work on a cash-in-hand basis. How do I declare this? I have asked the tax office for a form - as I know that I am due at least a £300 tax rebate, so that I can include all my earnings.
This tax thing confuses me so much! I'd be grateful if anyone could offer advice.
Thanks in advance.

It would probably be best to phone HMRC and explain the situation to them. They may decide to switch the codes around.0

you should be on a 'standard ' tax rate for one job (usually the one where you earn most) i.e. 503L in 2006-7 and 522L this tax year and not a week 1 month1.
if this was the situation last year then you are probably due a tax refund (all depending upon cash in hand work of course).
