Hi. I had my hearing yesterday. I got my first electric and gas bill for this property (I moved in a couple of months ago) today. Its a quarterly one and dated the beginning of last week- however it wasn't include on my statement of affairs- can I still include it as it was dated pre- bankruptcy or will it have to have been declared yeterday? Its for £300 that I havent got and I'm panicking. Also if I include it can they cut it off before its been transferred over to another supplier?
Really need some advice please...:(

Good news, all debts pre BR are included even if not on the form, just give them your ORs details and it's then up to them to make contact.
They may ask for a deposit or put in a meter but they should not cut it off if you are agreeing to pay post BR.0 -
Arh phew thanks for that...I was going to contact my OR in the morning just to let him know too? What do you think will happen then will they cut us off when they find out we won't be paying it? Were in the middle of a home move transfer with another supplier so what will happen in the meantime? I feel like I'd gort somewhere now theres a load more sorting out to do....where does it end?? Bit stressed tonight as you can probably tell... :-/0

if in the middle of a transfer there are laws to stop them doing anything to your contract until the transfer is complete so you should be fine, even if not transfering you can not cut you off, but as said may ask for a deposit or say you need a meter, but as you are moving it shouldn't come to that.0

Thanks. I already moved a couple of months ago and the suppliers have been a nightmare trying to arrange a takeover as its a new build. When I spoke to my current supplier a couple of weeks ago (who we now have the arrears with) they still hadn't been contact by the suppliers we've asked to take over. So shall I just ring up the new suppliers and chase them up and not contact the old ones and just hope the handover happens soon?0

yes, contact the new people, it's them that contact the old supplier, the old supplier can refuse to let you go, but only for a set list of reasons, one being you owe them money but the limit is around £500 so that shouldn't be a concern here, chances are the old supplier is in no rush to let you go as then they loose money so my guess is they don't have many staff processing the transfers, they probably have more staff in the department that are transfering in :rotfl:, so yes just give the new people a ring and they will chase them up.0
