Very unhappy with dental treatment.

  • welshdent,
I do have an appointment for next week.
Unfortunately it will not be a case of a dremel to fix these.

A complete new set will have to be made, there is no question of that, how this will play out is another matter.

It is so sad when this happens. I have just had my first partial temporary denture and I was dreading wearing them and what they would look like. Because of my dental phobia I don't recall at all being shown a colour chart. However, the colour match is fantastic and these are not even the permanent ones. The few people I have confided in about them were amazed that they weren't real. This is even more surprising as they are currently sitting over what is left of two root stumps as I am currently waiting for treatment at the Dental Hospital. I am a NHS patient who has also recently swapped Dentist because I was not satisfied with the new one who had taken over from my long suffering wonderful previous one. The end result is that there are good and bad Dentists out there. A good one will listen and take on board any issues you have, while a bad one will appear as if you are the problem. I hope it works out well for you in the end SallySunshine. Do let us know if you get satisfaction.

1 minute later after some acrylic grinding they looked at me sheepishly saying they felt fine now. That's all it took but they sat and stewed on it for 2 whole years.

:T:T:T TOTALLY AGREE with this.I asked for advice on this board last week....similar problem...and with a bit of grinding and reshaping, mine now fits properly and looks great!! You really must talk to the dentist in question and give them a chance to make alterations....i couldn't believe how a few deft bits of grinding changed an oblong into a tooth shape, which I am now exceedingly happy with...although colour matching is a completely different problem. Good luck SallySunshine...I do hope you get it successfully sorted!

Anyone would think we'd been trained! :D
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.
