My savings today

For the first time today, I need my weekly shop with my best friend. She has no idea of my money problems, and thinks I'm helping her out, as she's a single mum, and watches her pennies better than me! We decided all we would buy, were buy one get one free's, on things we could turn into meals for the next two weeks. When we got to the till, we just split the bill! I was amazed what we saved. Good old tesco! We treated our selves to some chocolate digestives witht he new cadbury chocolate on them! £1.09 for 2 (BOGOF)
I also registered on piggyback, and have a piggybank of £2 already. I introduced a couple of friends and hope they sign up now!
I also listed 20 items on ebay.
I think I'm on the right tracks. I'm going to do my best :)

Well done SG - definately sounds like your on the right track - keep up the good work!
If you dont want to tell your friend about your debt - maybe you could say that you have a credit card on really high interest and will be trying really hard to save money to pay it back or that you are saving for something. At least that will explain why you dont have as much cash as usual - then you can work together on ways to save money. The shopping trip sounded great for both of you and she might feel happier knowing that she can work with you to save money rather than feel you are always helping her out.

I am a new to this website - i find just writing on it really helps me to stay motivated. I have decided that i will tell people in my new job that i am saving for a deposit for a house - that will explain why i am spending minimal money and I think i will tell my friends that i have decided to pay off my credit card and then save for something - i am too embarrased 2 say that i am in debt up to my eyeballs.

Have you thought of starting a debt diary on this site? Good luckxx
