Help returning to work

Hi all, New poster :)

Unfortunatley i have been unemployed for best part of year (except for a 3 month temp job) forllowing being sacked for Gross misconduct putting my self at significant risk, I used the bottom rung of a step ladder (4" of the ground) with out obtaining my manager permission! ( got to love BskyB OTT H&S)

Anyway my post I have recently been offered a position with a local taxi company that i know well, to take on this role i have to get a drivers Hackney carriage licence, CRB and Badge fees and then the jobs mine But i cant afford the £200+ outright, does anyone know of a goverment scheme to help with these type of return to work expenses.
I dont fall into the continued 6 months unemployment thing as i worked Oct to Jan

Many thanks
