Thank you tattycath and welsh woofer for your support
I'm afraid me and ironing go together as much as hot water and a chocolate tea pot, I have thought about offering my services selling things for people, I already do it for my sil for free but might see if friends and other family might be interested, it keeps me occupied as well.
Just emptied a money saving tin and it was a bit abysmal, will use any change for my daughters tuck money fees and put them into envelopes for each week , least I won't have to go to the cash machine every week and spend something in order to get the right change. I find that saving in a pot doesn't really work for me.0 -
Having a very quiet Sunday, so thought I'd update with some thoughts that have been playing on my mind.
1. It has come to my realisation I have no hobbies or interests at all, my partner has tons, yet there's nothing that genuinely gets me excited. My days literally consist of being a general slave and once the kids are in bed I'm sitting there twiddling my thumbs whilst my partners doing his hobbies. If I could have dispensable money I would love to travel and sightsee but at the moment it's not feasible. I've started taking up deepcleaning the house just to keep me busy in the day. I used to enjoy jigsaw puzzles and reading but with 2 kids and one who is under 2 it's just not feasible, maybe when the youngest is older or understands not to take my jigsaw pieces I will start doing it again.
2. This time last year I had around £2000 in my bank that was just sitting there, I never had to worry or think if there was enough in the bank for bills. I really took my eye off the ball and I am kicking myself for it, there's not much I can put a finger on to say this is where it went ect just everyday spending and being careless. I had a friend at the time who I can say did not have my best interests at heart and just wanted me to spend spend spend, so glad I have wised up to her actions.
Sorry to anyone reading , just venting my frustrations at myself, now for positive thoughts, will be having a lovely beef roast in a few hours and to get everything sorted for daughter going back to school tomorrow, a bit of normality back in our lives.
I also recently changed gas and elec suppliers and my direct debit due tomorrow has not been called for so will be very wary about this and not spend the money so when I do have to pay the final bill everything's account for.
Hope everyone has had a good weekend0 -
Well the half term week certainly didn't have a positive impact on me, I am absolutely shattered and it's only the first day back!
I have paid off the next account so that's 0 balance now but has been transferred onto the Barclay card which has no interest for 6 months, once my partner gets paid and I get paid will start tackling the overdraft.
I have given the credit card to my partner who doesn't do debt so I don't spend on it.0 -
Late one for me tonight, waiting up for my partner to transfer me some money as I have the virgin going out but not enough to cover it so hoping wont get bounced, usually it's ok.
The gas and elec did go out so hopefully final bill won't be very much.
Will be recieving £40 soon from a friend who owes me so will be putting that straight to the overdraft, will reduce the limit on Friday , or pending when the cheque clears.
This is non money saving but might make you smile.
I was having a bath and my one year old wanted to join in, so she starts to undress herself and wanders off comes back and is naked, now my bath water is usually scalding hot , so as I picked her up she was whimpering a bit and I put her on my lap and she started to cry so I thought must be the hot water, switched the tap on and put her on the ledge of the bath with one hand, I moved her back onto my lap and what do I see POO all over the bath tub and now all over me!
Omg I freaked out so much I didn't know what to do, my partner thought it was hilarious my lovely bath turned into a quick hose down!0 -

Have you got any stuff to eb@y? I'm ebaying as much as I can at the moment-sold 25 items so far and currently got bids on 5 more things.
It may not equate to a lot of money but it does all add up and hopefully frees up some much needed space.- that's the plan if I don't go replacing it all with more 'stuff' (I must resist, I must resist) lol
Keep posting, my diary is really helping me-as is gallygirl, Tilly MFW in 6 years, jwil, catshark, Lois_E, Elantan-among others-their diaries are really inspiring and great motivators.GE 36 *MFD may 2043

I think you have to pay minimum on the barclay card just no interest but my plan was pay minimum, and Ive spoken with my partner I can reduce my overdraft this month to £500 and next month will aim for £250 off and may another £350 so that should be gone, think the overdraft was a bit less than that, then the remaining few months pay whatever is left on the barclay card even if i pay a small amount of interest its still much better than Next's apr.
Ive been reading quite a few diaries as well I will look up those ones you mentioned thank you0 -
Just had the most tastiest rump steak and home made chips, steak brought at the butchers, can really taste the difference, very yummy.
Have done a meal plan for the food shop on Saturday
Dinners
Ham and cheese panninis and chips
Cottage pie
Chicken stir fry
Sausage mash and peas
Salmon and Mediterranean Vegatables and Pasta
Filled peppers with mince beef fried rice
Filled jacket potatoes with cheese and ham
Hoping it will be varied and trying to cut down on the meat as that's what's most expensive, hopefully the kids will enjoy it too. I have done quite well this week and not gone to the the local shop for sweets or top ups.will see how much I have left to allocate tomorrow to out towards the overdraft.0 -
Paid off £44 to the overdraft so its at £900 now
Barclay at £719.
Will pay off a little bit each week on Friday as that's when I plan my money out for the next week.Still have about £110 available for the next week but plan on doing the food shop tomorrow which aiming for about £30, anything I have left I will transfer to the overdraft.0 -
