First up, it’s this year’s must-have touring binding: the Scott Guardian. Worth £320, it features a burly toe piece (with a DIN up to 16) and an alpine-style heel piece which switches from ski to tour mode with a mere flick of a pole. Oh, and in case our winner fancies a new pair of skis to go with their new bindings, Scott is throwing in a voucher offering 20% off their skis.
If you’re venturing off into the wild, you’ll need a transceiver too. Good thing those lovely folk at Arva are giving the winner one of their top-spec Link transceivers too. The Link (worth £325) has an ace up its sleeve: a second frequency it works on, called the W-Link, which allows it to process signals from other Links and transceivers with the same technology significantly more quickly, which make it more reliable in multi-victim situations. It has a simple user-friendly interface and two different modes: for beginners and advanced users. A must-have for when the unthinkable happens.
