can you only get cashback at tesco online if you click through the link, not add it after your shop?

we've never used it for online shops but have done instore so didn't realise it worked differently

also, WHY do we have to give our tesco password to quidco????

it says so they can check but honestly it doesn't seem right. if they needed to check wouldn't they use the order no, this way they have complete access to your account so in theory they could check anything, change anything, and honestly isn't it a breach to give out a password.....so if something does happen it would be our own fault and tesco would take no responsibility as we were silly enough to give out a private password

i know theres a quidco rep that answers questions on here, i'd appreciate it if you could add comment

There is absoultely no reason why anyone should need your password for any purpose.

If anyone else asks for it, I would report them accordingly. If a member of the Quidco Team is requesting this, I would report them accordingly to Quidco. You may also want to advise or forward the request to Tesco themselves making them aware.

There has recently been a spate of Tesco clubcard accounts being accessed illegally and vouchers used. This could have something to do with that?. Just a suggestion.

I've done that a couple of times, ie bought penguin biscuits at say Tesco, but the offer was Morrisons etc!

I haven't really bought many offers at all lately, but when I do, I stand there and weigh up wether or not it REALLY is a good offer or not, quite often, you can get a different size or different brand (sometimes own brand), which is just as good and still works out cheaper than getting the offer.

I'm more careful nowadays, and don't just buy the offer for the sake of it....even if it does make my shopping take longer lol!
I've only bloody done it again! Bought Crunchy Nut Cornflakes yesterday & shopitize didn't include Sainsbury's - Derr...
I don't think I can hang on til Friday...

its not a particular person, but on the settings to do cashback online at tesco (u need to link your account) so it asks for email address and password.

i guess they think its probably easier to access your account than go through the formal channels when theres an issue with a cashback, but to me it just seems stupid to give out a password, any password really

and i was thinking the same about the clubcard vouchers, anyone at quidco could print vouchers, change address/details so they could basically use your vouchers as well as change orders to be delivered elseswhere and for those that save their payment details to save time checking out, couldn't they just place orders on your account???? well maybe not if you need the security no on the back of cards. but its possible your account could be used to place fraudulent orders with stolen card i guess.....i know it might be far fetched but its possible

it worries me that this might be the norm, as don't quite a few people on here use clicksnap on online orders, i know about companies using cookies/your browser data etc for marketing purposes but asking for your passwords from your online supermarket accounts just seems completely wrong

i can't be the 1st who has an issue with this? or have they recently changed it to ask for passwords?

it needs your password for Mysupermarket.co.uk but that's because it transfers the items into your basket on tesco, otherwise they wouldn't be able to add the stuff. But for quidco there's no reason?
