Contractor and mortgage

We are first time buyers. My partner is an engineer and after working for the same company he was made redundant and started his own company and is now a contractor. He has been a contractor for almost two years and his first year books have been completed. I have been working at the hospital for the last 6 years.
We are looking for a mortgage one that considers contractors who only 2 years and one year of books. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Look back a few days and you will find same topic covered. What you require is possible and several lenders will consider. Make an appointment with an independent adviser who should be able to assist.

As above really, this is possible. It makes it easier if you can wait for the second years accounts or even get an accountants projection for year 2.

It is possible without them subject to you having a decent sized deposit - i would say at least 25%.

I do think you would save a lot of time and hassle by speaking to a mortgage advisor though.
