I'm not too sure where it's best to post this topic?
We are a group of volunteers for the Welsh Ambulance Service & have a committee etc for the team. We have our AGM meeting this Friday.
I know all members have to be given 20 days notice for the date of the AGM. The time for the meeting has changed yesterday (3 days before the meeting) Which means some members are unable to attend, including myself.
Does anyone know if the committee have to give a certain amount of notice if they change the times for an AGM?
Thank you

I think it depends on what is written in your Constitution.
When I was an officer on our Village Hall committee the Constitution stated we had to give 28 days notice of an AGM or maildrop all the homes in the vicinity at least 7 days before. We also had to post a notice outside the Village Hall at least 28 days before, but I don't think that would apply to your organisation unless you have a regular meeting place.
Maybe a notice outside your venue stating that due to unforseen circumstances the meeting has to be postponed? My OH, who was Chair of our VH Committee, says he thinks you may have to give another 20 days notice before the rescheduled AGM. Are you a registered charity? If so you have to abide by the Charity Commission's rules & regulations.

I've had a look at our Constitution & i can see it states that 20 days notice needs to be given regarding the date of meeting but it mentions nothing if times of meeting changes etc. We have a regular meeting point & have 2 have at least 4 meeting a year + an AGM.
We are not a registered charity, we are community first responders who volunteer for the Welsh Ambulance Service.
I feel it's unfair that it goes ahead if some member now are unable to attend due to time changes. I feel its important that all team member are there as it will be the only opportunity we get to vote for committee members.
I thought i would post here for some advice as i don't know where i stand. Thank you for your reply0
