need to be at london waterloo this sunday by half past mid day, absolute latest, travelling from ipswich.
The route i have looked at (and i appreciate its a sunday!!) says that will take me two and half hours!!! plus there is disruption on the underground because of engineering work. that seems like rather a long time to me???
the route i looked at said train to stratford then tube to waterloo. the tube journey alone showed at 45 minutes!!
not bothered about driving a little way out of ipswich and parking up for the day if i can get a quicker journey from somewhere else.. anyone any bright ideas???

Welcome to weekend engineering works. National Rail Enquiries (see link) shows that there is a bus service between Ipswich and Witham (taking 45 minutes). Witham to Stratford on the train then takes a further 45 minutes. The only piece of good news I can give you is that while the National Rail website gives Stratford to Waterloo as yet another 45 minutes on the Jubilee line TfL's own website quotes it as taking 20 mins.

You are going to be on a bus for part of the journey anyway, so why not get the coach?
The 05:55 is only £4.50 and the 08:15 is £8.50, both to Victoria. The 21:00 back is also £4.50.0 -

And depending on how many further stops are on the National Rail service it may work out as well to travel right in to Liverpool Street then via Bank and Waterloo & City line0 -

you are only an hour away by car0
