Why would someone's weight be up for discussing ?

I know i'm overweight, the mirror tells me that when i look into it. My clothes tell me when ive eaten too much too.
I dont need anyone to remind me.
I had a 'friend' who told me that because i was of a certain age, i ought to have my hair cut short and ditch the makeup and it made me even more determined to wear my hair and makeup as i wanted to.
My Mother would nag me about losing weight... it didnt make a scrap of difference, just made me hate myself more.
Hubby used to comment on my weight, until one day he woke up and realized he might just lose me.... He's turned into a bit of a feeder now.
A message to everyone who thinks they can say what they want to me because its 'in my best interests'.... Dont if you value our friendship relationship, you might just end up pushing me away. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Yes, you chopped off the closing square bracket after the opening quote tag.0 -
I do admire the posters who said they really don't care and seem to mean it.:) Personally, if I'm honest, I do feel smug when I see people who are fatter than me. I don't comment though, the smug feeling is enough.
I couldn't feel like that because I am always aware that I could be the person being looked down on tomorrow. I know enough people who have got ill or had to go on a lot of steroids to know you can go from slim to fatty or from hot to not in a moment. What irritates me is those who say proudly ' I like to call a spade a f***ing shovel'. It's as if it gives them carte blanche to be as rude as they like all in the name of honesty.
Those people always seem to be the ones who get very angry or start boo-hooing if you are honest with them0
