My PV goes on tomorrow!

A first brief post to say how helpful I found the many PV related threads in this forum while I was going through the quote and choices process, thank you all for that. My chosen installer comes tomorrow (forecast cloudy!) and I am looking forward to managing it in line with much of the advice I distilled from here. A couple of snippets from my own experience of the pre-installation phase. I had an analogue meter that I was advised would complicate matters by running backwards. I sent my supplier an e-mail saying I was thinking of PV and could I please have a new meter. That was 8 Feb. The meter man has just left, 20 Feb, having installed a nice new digital meter - not bad. Doing my early research, I found a lot of useful info on "neutral" web sites in Australia and California, as long as one allows for the obvious differences, it all helped with the decision making process regarding the panels and inverter. As far as installers were concerned, I always use local folk and I ring them rather than use a "let us give you 3 quotes" site. I hope to post progress reports.

Nice. I wish mine were due south. They are 1 today!
3141kWh's generated for a 19.3% ROI. Very happy.4kW PV System installed 21/2/12: Aurora Power One 3.6 Inverter
11x 250w panels West; 5x 250 panels East.
On course for 19.8% ROI in Year 1.
Immersun installed 13/9/120 -
Actually commissioned 1630 hrs 22 Feb so 1 day late (panels late arrival from distributor). 16 beautiful looking black Conergy panels producing 4KWh so far today (now 1430hrs) on a snowy, cloudy and, only very briefly, sunny, day. Exciting times. No more posts to this thread methinks but I'll contribute where appropriate to other PV threads.0
