You can also just keep in a cool dark place and they will last you for quite some time, if they started to sprout them just dig out the sprout, peel and use as normal, but a potatoes kept right can last a long while.Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0

getting confused lol not hard to do....the 1st post u gave me said Blanche in oil ...so i can do it in either that's good . i told you i was boggled at such an easy thing.
I just sought that link out as a quick ref for you but yes you could follow that method or the water blanch or just store until needed.
It really depends how many of you there are and how quick you would use the potatoes.
If you have 5 x 6 kilos that is 30kg (a lot of potatoes even to freeze).
When it come to cooking, freezing etc. it really is down to preferred methods and playing around to what suite you.
If you do freeze then make sure the are open frozen (on a tray to keep separate) or you will end up with a lump of potatoes.

Convenience? I love being able to come in from work and just chuck a handful of ready-made HM wedges straight into the oven, rather than having to peel, boil, season and then cook them. Means I get my weekday evenings to chill out with OH, rather than spend ages on my feet in the kitchen. Plus two nights a week I have to be at evening classes so having stuff ready-prepared means I have time to eat before I go out - so things like frozen portions of HM mash mean I can whack that and some cottage pie mince straight in the microwave and have dinner ready in 10 mins.
Not to mention we lack storage space in the kitchen. Far easier to keep all the potatoes in the freezer than try to find a cupboard to stash them in!0 -
yes meadows i can make potato bread or tayty bread as its called over here . thanks for those links the bread looks lovely.C.R.A.P.R.O.L.L.Z #7 member N.I splinter-group co-ordinater
