Nationwide personal loans

Hi everyone,
Just applied for nationwide personal loan. 5k. Says agreed in principle and that they will do some further checks and that most of these wont require me being contacted. Once there completed money will be released.
Just looking for some personal experiences from people who've applied online for nationwide loan.
Have they done credit checks? Is this the usual response? What checks do they do? How long does it take?

They will check you credit file and make sure you are who you said you are on the application. They will look at your history of managing credit and how exposed you are to unsecured debt already.
They may ask you to prove your income (unlikely if you bank with them)

Thanks. Do they not do credit check before they agree in principle then?
I don't bank with them so do you think it's likely they'll want proof of income? I just want to know why to expect.

If you don't bank with them they may request proof of income but again they may not...

OP id imagine the process, length of time will vary from 1 person to the next.

I recently got a loan from Nationwide, got same reply at you did, they never contacted me & money was in my account within 2 days, however I do have a current account with them....

Stephane thanks for your reply. Did they not even tell you it had gone though then just paid the money out? Also anyone not a current nationwide customer got any experience with them???

Depending on information available. May take a few days for their appointed credit agency to update your profile. In order for them to start the process in earnest.
