The impact of CCJ's should never be underestimated.
Thank you, we'll make enquiries once the debt is settled this week.0 -

Hi again, hoping for some more advice please if anyone can help!
My Husband's CCJ is now settled and the credit reports are being updated to reflect this. We have spoken to a specialist broker who said there will be no chance of a mortgage until my Husband has been employed at his job for six months, more likely a year. This will take us to September 2014 where he is quite likely to get a pay rise/internal new position at the company after his grad scheme ends at around this date. His CCJ will have been registered for over 3 years at this point.
We've been discussing the options and have a couple of questions;
1)If my Husband gets a promotion/job role change in the company he will be working for in September 2014 after his year of employment, will he have to work for another 6/12 months in that role, as it will probably be a new role, before we can apply for a mortgage?
2) Does anyone know what kind of interest rates we will be paying on the products we are elligible for? Obviously I know these will probably change before we apply, but it'd be good to know a ball park figure so that we can do some budgeting and see if it's worth buying as soon as we can or waiting until 2017 when the CCJ will fall off of my Husband's credit file.
3) Following on from question 2, is there a big difference in interest rates of mortgages whether CCJs are 3/4/5 years old? Or will the rate be similar regardless because of the fact there is a CCJ on file?
4) My husband now has a credit builder credit card, but I don't have any credit history. Would it be a good idea to get myself a credit builder credit card too? I'm a housewife so on a joint application I will not have any earnings. Will a fair credit score due to lack of history on my part be a negative thing if I don't build my credit rating with a credit card?
Thanks in advance. Sorry if these questions are silly!0 -
Bumping if anyone can offer any answers please!0
