Jobseekers Allowance Stopped

I am a 24 year old currently claiming Jobseekers Allowance. I had my sign on interview today where I was told my benefits were to be stopped. They said they had sent me a letter to attend an interview on 5th Feb, a letter I have never received. I contacted Royal Mail, they had no mail for me, or any record of any lost mail. I asked them why didn't they contact me via phone or text. They said they only have to contact me via one medium. Can anyone offer me any advice on what to ask my advisor in the follow up meeting to this? As far as I am concerned it is my word against theirs at the minute.
Thanks

Was the 5th not your normal sign on day, or was this interview in addition to that?
It sounds like you need to do a rapid reclaim, but without more information we cannot give a definitive answer.0 -
Apologies, my sign on day was 5th February, which I attended and signed on for. I was told the letter was sent out on 5th February also, but I wasn't told until today that my interview was on 8th February. I was meant to have the interview in addition to normal sign on.0

In that case, assuming your claim has been closed, you need to make a rapid reclaim and apply for backdating for the reasons given. If the claim has not been closed but you have been sanctioned, you need to appeal the sanction. The difficulty you have is that they deem any post sent as having been received, however they may allow an appeal/ backdating request if this is the first time you have missed an appt.0
