I found that a thread I had started had been deleted.

I assume it has been deleted by a moderator, can I know why so I don't do it again?

I've just found it in Google cache and can't see anything wrong. It is a voting competition and Martin does say "Please do not post vote for me competitions, they are not allowed on this forum."

I've always thought that that meant that he did not want people to post comps and then ask forum members to vote for their entry. Perhaps I'm wrong and Martin literally does not want voting comps to be posted??

Was the date in the correct format? Did it require a purchase? Was it your own site? I can't see the comp so can't really say why it was deleted.

Maybe the link was not "clean", yours had more characters on the end than were needed just to get to the comp page?

The actual way that you've posted it looks fine, as mjm says, it does look like a referral link that you've given, but I don't recall posts being deleted because of that in the past, normally someone posts a 'clean' link for you.

But surely that's for after you've entered, not for letting people know there is a comp to start with?
