Discharged BR - Mortgage Advisor jobs

Hi All,

I received ED in Dec 09 and have since kept a clean credit file.

I have been made redundant and as such need to find a new job. In years gone by I was a mortgage advisor and as such I keep getting calls from recruitment agencies about doing that again. As much as I would love to I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be allowed- am I right?

I am just fed up of going from one dead end job to another but nobody will take me serious because my CV mainly shows jobs in banking.

Thanks

Sarah Lacey

  • Hello, I am sure someone else will come along that has more recent experience but when I worked in banking you weren't allowed to work there if there were any CCJ's or bankruptcy on your file and I know of people that were let go because of this, especially in mortgages as it came under the approved persons remit for FSA regulations.

As you say your CV shows mainly jobs in banking is there any way you can be bit more creative to make it more of a customer service role that just happens to be in the banking sector as I can't go back into banking due to my finances, so I have played more on my customer service skills and I have had no problem attracting roles like that if I were to change to that full time.

I hope all goes well for you and you find something of interest soon.

    Hi

    Thanks for your reply.

I've tried doing that but all I'm getting replies from or calls about is finance jobs or telesales (my current role is in a call centre)
