Having made some positive changes to my life this last couple of weeks, admitting my gambling problems to the support board here being one of them, I have just sent an online enquiry to Pay Plan to speak with someone about my mounting debts, some which date back to over 4 or 5 years ago
I have to stop burying my head in the sand, stop hiding the letters that come through the door and start to face facts that i can't go on like this.
I have now go to sit and go through my debt letters and work out how I can begin to move forwards.
I need to do a SOA and post that up - I am already making savings but, until now, the bulk of my outgoings have been gambling which I am working on hard. I have closed all my accounts with online sites, requested a change of bank accounts to remove the debit card aspect so temptation is minimal and have planned with a friend to go into town every payday and go in bank to pay bills and withdraw anything that is left to help me to not gamble.
Anyone have any advice on the steps Pay Plan will go through etc
any advice/support would be gratefully received xx

I just wanted to say well done on starting to sort everything out. The hardest thing can be saying there is a problem and dealing with it and that you are now heading in the right direction.
It may be helpful to contact a gambling charity for advice if you have not already done so to offer support as well as sorting out your debts.
I am sure others will come along to give far better advice but I just wanted to congratulate you on those first important steps.

Thanks Find xx I am currently working up the courage to contact Gamcare. My husband does not know about my gambling and while his mental health is so unstable, I would like to keep it that way if possible - I don't feel ready to open up to him right now which makes me feel so bad because he is my best friend in the whole world xxxSealed Pot Challenge

Just wanted to say congratulations, its a huge step youve made, admitting there is a problem and now that is the hardest step out of the way, you can look to move forward
