Are there any other benefits? Could it just be a crude calculation by the employer rather than an accurate one as done by the online calculators?
Plan for the lower and be happy if you get the higher0 -
If you use the personal allowance from 6th April 2013 of 9440 you get £1224 per month. They don't appear to have taken NI into account, or pension contributions if there is a pension scheme.0

As mentioned already are they working it out from April instead of now? Personal allowances are going up in April. The sites out there now will show the 2012-3 figures not the 2013-4 ones.
Also are there any benefits - travelling stipend etc?0 -

Change the year box to 2013/4 on this one: http://www.thesalarycalculator.co.uk/salary.php
(although you still don't get near their figure unless you put the tax code of 9440L into the taxcode option box...)0 -
There must be something wrong with one of the calculations, the difference between the 810L tax code and the new 944L code is only worth about £22 per month.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

I think they must have not deducted NI. So in April her pay will go up about £25 a month? I know she is on an energency tax code at the moment. Also she was Self-Employed last year if that makes a difference0

I was wondering if anyone could help with which should be a basic question.
My OH has just started a new job and earns £16,000 a year. She is tax code 810L.
She has been told at work that she will get around £1,225 a month Net. However we worked out using online calculators that it will be £1,115 a month. Can anyone tell us why work have told her to expect an extra £110? It literelly doesn't add up!
Has she worked throughout the year since 6 April 2012?
Are they looking at the 2013-14 level of personal allowance?0 -
Hi,
Yeah she has been working since last year with no time out of work0
