Why not just get a job in the holidays?

How do you pay the rent now?

Assuming you're a single person you can't claim JSA until the day after your course officially ends.

Your student loan is suppose to last your throughout the holidays I'm afraid. You have to budget it, the loan will come through in Easter and it needs to last you through the summer holidays.

Best bet is to find a job, as you wont be eligible for any benefits. But if you budget to pay your rent at least then you wont have to worry too much about money then.

You might get a more detailed response if you post on the student board.

Students are not eligible for JSA or help with rent. You are supposed to budget for this from your student loan (or pay it from your student overdraft or any wages you may have). The situation may be different if you are disabled, or a single parent, or if you are living with a non-student partner.

One thing to bear in mind is that many students go back to their home town in the summer vacation, and pay a lower rent as a retainer, is this an option for you?
