Website Idea to help clear debts - help needed

Hi,

Not sure if this should be posted in this forum so if not please forgive me and feel free to move to where it should go.

I am trying really hard to clear off my remaining debt and at the same time start a business which I can run from home to provide me with an income (all be it a small one) in the years to come as having just had our second baby and with a husband who works away a lot or does funny shifts going out to work with a "proper job" just is'nt an option.

I have come up with an idea for a website but need to know roughly how much it will cost me to set up, design, host etc. If there are any web designers out there who are looking for some extra cash to go towards there debts then please contact me as hopefully we could be able to help each other out and become DF sooner rather than later. ;)

Ta v much you talented bunch of people.

Hi, I am not a Web Designer by trade but have done a few sites overthe years.

It would really depend on what was needed from the site. Would you reuire a full E-Commerce setup? Would you needa a merchant account to accept Credit Cards or would Paypal suffice?

If its small E-Commerce solution you need I would highly suggest Actinic Express as its a all in one solution and you should be able to set it up yourself. The whole package and hosting comes in at £19.99 a month

Another option is the 'Mr Site' package - I've never used it but it looks good.

I;ve used actinic, not a bad package once you get your head around it. I host my site with a local guy, he charges me a fiver a month, plus he'll build your site for you if needs be.
This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

Current Pay Off Target : £1500

    Hi

My son has just set up his own website/website design business. You can find it at https://www.michaelswebdesign.co.uk/

There are contact details on there and I am sure he would be willing to help with anything you need to know.

    Good luck

Depends on what sort of thing you need done - just a simple website ? (Information, images, contact details) or a fully programmed website that maybe uses software? ( booking system, selling system etc)

Hi, thanks for all your posts. All your help has been gratefully taken on board.

I'm looking to set up quite a complicated site which would give people the option of having an online shop of their own under my trading name - if that makes sense so it will involve several carts, pages etc. If anybody has any good hosting sites for this type of thing or you are a fantastic web designer then please let me know as I would much prefer to pay a DFW (or a relative of theirs) to do the site than a non DFW.

    Thanks again

you might well be advised to ask on the small biz or techie boards about this.
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
