Hi just wondering for anyone who has got a Tesco personal loan do you know what your experian score was ?
I know people say its pointless and doesnt mean a thing as im full aware the banks have their own internal system the use in addition.

However i do know having a good score does mean something and have a really poor score also means something.
So if anyone has got a tesco loan and also knew what their experian score was i would be really grateful if you could share your info with me.

Thanks :)

  • Pointless exercise.

The score means nothing - the information that sits behind the score is far more important but how this impacts the score or how a lender regards you is an unknown.

If it meant something Experian would be in the business of lending money.

Yeah like i say i know people with a very poor score on experian who cannot get anything at all !
I then know people with good scores who can get car finance, mortgages etc so i do know that the score is defo important. I am also aware its one of many factors thats taken into account.
What i am basically asking is if anyone has taken a loan with tesco and happen to know their experian score that all i want to know.
    But thanks for your reply.

You need a little understanding of these credit scores.

The 'number' that Experian sell you bears no resemblence to the Delphi NB score/scorecard that Experian sell to some* lenders.

    See this recent thread...

    * They sell to over 150 UK financial institutions. Tesco may or may not be one of them.

Well offset that tiny sample of people with the dozens and dozens of threads on here saying:

"I've got 999 credit score yet I keep getting turned down..."

No i know i have seen a lot of people saying that about their score. I took that to be people who paid theirs cards off in full every months. Cleared loans early etc and perhaps get declined as they are seen as a non money maker which i do understand. Its hard to know what profile companies are looking for.
Bit i suppose if anyone knew the answer to that question we would all know how to work the system :)

:T you've hit the nail on the head with your last sentence! Hence why everyone has different criteria but generally keeps them secret.

Biggest myth in declined applications in history when someone say they've been declined because they won't make the bank money.
