Hi, Just got brave enough to join you all.
Two years into being a born again single and the support I have got from you all has been amazing - thankyou.
I managed to get a mortgage to keep my home and only have one credit card left to pay off. Watching you all has made me feel that what seemed impossible is possible and now I have done it.
I am hoping to send one son to university next year and will be saving towrds that once the card is done.
I have logged on cause now I am strong enough to give back some of what you have all given me.
God bless you all

Hi and welcome,
Im glad that you have had encouragemnt from the forums and do please join in! It does make it easier IMO.
I joined up back in 2004 originally then Lurked for the rest of the time.I then went in circles with debt until last august when I started posting properly. Since I have been posting I have never felt so confident in clearing my debts.

Great to feel positive enough to join in. Thanks for coming back to me. I have been a fan of Martins for some time. The Money diet is my bible lol
It is very comforting to see folk with larger debts than mine taking them on and getting results. 2004 and still here. Thats a good sign.0 -
Hiya all
I too am very inspired by people on these boards, this one in particular. I am debt free now after a long hard battle but sometimes feel tempted to go down that route again. A quick read of posts on here though generally sorts me out!Baby Ice arrived 17th April 2011. Tired.com! :j0 -
Inspiration and not lying to myself was my first step.
When I get this card paid off I need to start saving but I am unsure about where to begin. I have not regularly saved since my post office book in the seventies.
Does as and when you can work. I dont think a regular direct debit could work for me as some months this would flip me into an overdraft again. I was trying to save £2 coins as I get them infrequently but I'm not doing very well.0 -
I have never been any good at saving, but what I have now done to start getting me into the habit is that when my benefits rose (yeap I.S. for me) I arranged for that extra weekly amount to go into a special year long account with the Halifax for my daughter. I don't miss the money as I never received it, and the account can NOT be touched for a year. What a lovely :EasterBun Easter present she will have next year.:rotfl:2026 Goals
