Please obsfucate where my high-lighting parts of the article that contradict what you 'say' the articles says/implies became 'my opinion'. Perhaps you could do it in Latin, it would probably make as much sense.
    Hi

I consider the content, context and logic contained in my previous posts to be relevant and correct with reasoning to support this having been previously provided for all to see.

I therefore classify a pedantic and vexatious set of questions, including those referencing 'obfuscation' to be unworthy of reply, therefore I am simply content to concede that your reasoning may be as correct in your own mind as you, in reality, believe it to be ...

I would have thought that the Latin extract would have been seen as being eminently relevant on the G&E forum considering that it's supposedly linked to the patron of ecology.

The EU is on track to meet its target of generating 20% of its energy from renewables by 2020 but member states Latvia and Malta have been named and shamed as underperforming in the European Commission's latest progress report.

    http://www.pv-magazine.com/news/details/beitrag/eu-renewables-target-on-track-but-needs-200-billion-more_100011493/#axzz2UZDYxEyn

That leaves Belgium, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Greece, France, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia and the UK somewhere in between, in the 'can do better' bracket, which also encompasses the political bloc as a whole.

The EC report notes that such a €200 billion investment up to 2020 would require a 50% increase in the amount invested in energy infrastructure from 2000 to 2010.

  • Swamp forests in the US are being felled to help keep the lights on in the UK. Is this really the best way to combat climate change?

Environmentalists are trying to block the expansion of a transatlantic trade bringing American wood to burn in European power stations.

The trade is driven by EU rules promoting renewable energy to combat climate change.

Many millions of tonnes of wood pellets will soon be shipped annually to help keep the lights on in the UK. Other EU nations may follow.

Some you lose, some you draw! :(

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2013/jun/04/decarbonisation-target-defeated-energy-bill-vote

    Some extracts:

A bid to include a target to decarbonise the UK's electricity generation by 2030 was narrowly defeated in the House of Commons on Tuesday afternoon, to the dismay of green campaigners and businesses that had backed the goal as a way of stimulating investment in renewables and low-carbon energy.

Under the amendment, electricity generators would have had to use more renewables, carbon capture and storage and nuclear power to reduce to nearly zero their carbon production by 2030. The measure had the backing of dozens of businesses, green campaigners and industry associations.

The fight over the fourth carbon budget looks set to be intense, as the close nature of Tuesday's vote shows. Many Tories back Osborne's call for a new "dash for gas", which they say will be cheaper than renewable power, and are concerned that the UK is taking on more than its share of emissions cuts. The Committee on Climate Change recently produced a report rebutting those arguments, and showing that the UK could benefit from cheaper energy if more renewable generation is built sooner rather than later.

The continuing uncertainty that will result increases the perceived risk of investment and will therefore raise capital costs, meaning that consumers may ultimately pay more for the new power plants that need to be built."

Investment in the UK's renewable energy has fallen to a seven-year low, according to recent research by Bloomberg New Energy Finance, as investors have been spooked by the contradictory messages coming from government. Many on the right of the Conservative party have become more vociferous in their opposition to alternative energy, and more outspoken in voicing doubts over climate change science.

Public prepared to invest in UK solar projects

    http://www.solarpowerportal.co.uk/news/public_prepared_to_invest_in_uk_solar_projects

A third of the public would consider investing their own cash in small scale renewable projects including solar facilities, according to a new poll.

The poll also revealed that a quarter of the public would consider investing in energy bonds where money would be used to build large energy infrastructure projects like nuclear power stations or large offshore wind farms.
