I didn't think the utility companies were told of your BR by the IS?

Morning all,

Just had a bit of a surprise letter in the post from the water company.

My bankruptcy was due to one historic debt with an idiot ex husband & I have no probs living day to day so am not in arrears with any utility company & never have been. Have had this morning a letter from the water company saying that the Insolvency Service has notified them of my bankruptcy but as my payments are up to date they will not take any further action. Will the IS have notified everyone on my soa of my BR as I thought there was no need for utilities to know unless you are in arrears with them?

The OR would simply enquire if arrears existed.......so that they may be included within the BR estate.
No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......
  • Thanks alastair, if npower make me go onto a pre payment meter I will not be amused!
