I have just discovered this on Yahoo. You can submit stories and articles and get paid by the number if hits (if I understand it correctly) or any advertising that the article generates.
I have registered but as I don't have any published work online - or anywhere else for that matter - will prob receive a rejection.
Have any of you submitted work to websites or magazines, and, if so is it financially lucrative?
Have you submitted work anywhere else online?

Please could you keep this thread updated. I thought this service was long buried. I cant remember if it was through Yahoo but one of the big companies offered this service in the past. People were making a killing and here is how they did it.
They would use a voice recognition software and just talk about the topic or even read other articles out and just change the sentence construction and the program would type out the article for them. They would be able to churn out loads of articles in a day.0 -
Oh the software was called Dagon naturally speaking if I remember correctly0

I did hear back from Yahoo and was told to send some samples of my work to here
- sorry not allowed to post the link-
Haven't done this yet.
Interesting what you say Tami, of course, it would be easy just to pirate other people's work.0 -
I just applied for this, is it good pay ?0
-
I don't know about pay. Probably you have to submit work first before they tell you the pay.0

I'm signed up now, though nothing published yet. I can't see anyone making their fortune with it.
I have currently submitted two assignments which will pay me £50 in total unless, of course, they go viral. The basis for pay is a small (£10-£30) amount upfront against future page views. the page views are on a per thousand basis and from what I can see, most articles get around a thousand to two thousand views which would pay nothing additional (the page view payments are offset against the upfront payment).
But the concept is interesting and if you are keen to get published it may be a good starting point and addition to your portfolio0
