who sits where in church?

Im having a church wedding. Brides family on left grooms on right
but disagreeing with my mum.who says front row is groom n bestman only, whivh means best man will be sat on his own with a row of empty seats. Id planned on putting his mum n dad n brothers on there too? Same again on bride side she says she should be on second row and my one bridesmaid sat on her oen.on the front row. Seems daft to me??!

If it seems daft don't do it.

I'm standing on the right and hubby on the left, just to be different. If you want more people to have a better view then have people fill the rows.
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....
  • We ended up having a church seating plan. I know that's being very particular, but we didn't want certain people barging their way to the front infront of those that we thought should be there!
On the front row... Groom side was the groom, best man and his girlfriend.. On my side was my brother and mum
Second row was grooms parents and nan.. My grandparents
Then we sort of worked our way through the family...
Grooms sisters and ushers and bridesmaids (all sitting with their boyfriends so were a bit spread out)
    Aunts and uncles
    Cousins
    Family friends

It worked brilliantly. Nobody argued, fussed and totally accepted that we had chosen where people were sitting. Most probably expected it as I'm ridiculously organised, I like everything to be perfect haha! I would definitely advise it.

At most of the weddings I've been at, including religious ceremonies, the bridal party (i.e. best man, bridesmaids etc) have stood throughout the ceremony. So the front row of seats would be parents and immediate family.
  • Bride and groom at the front before the altar, witnesses behind them on separate chairs or alone in the first row.
Bride's guests on the right, groom's guests on the left. Family more to the front, friends more at the back.
At least that's how it was for us.

    They are (they're)
    sitting on the floor.
    Their
books are lying on the floor.
The books are sitting just there on the floor.
