Humble Beginnings...

Evening all,
I am a debt free wanabee (story of my life) always been bad with money, but always had plenty. (When living with well off parents- and no, they won't pay me any money, nor should they!) Now standing on own two feet with new(ish) hubby and we aren't doing too well!
We've been trying to sort out our debts alone, but so far we are merely drowning slower, rather than staying afloat.
To complicate things, I am Bipolar (Like Stephen Fry, only I am nowhere near that intellegent!) and when on a high, spend lmoney on everyone I know- I love people and want eveyone to be happy, so screw myself in the process! i have no longer got any credit cards and am trying to get in the habit of not taking any payment options out with me when i am having loopy moments to prevent this.
I will lay out our situation, but do you really want to know all incomes, outgoings, apr's etc? I don't want to look them all up (yes, my signautre is an estimate) if it will bore you all to tears. It is also quite wierd being this honest with complete strangers. Reassure me people!!
Newbie Debt Free Wanabee...
Debts as 27.07.07

LA Card: £871.50

I'm not waving, I'm drowning...

If you want to put up an SOA its upto you and it will make it easier to see what others could advise on.

I find it easier on here than to talk face to face. also it eases the pressure you put yourself under and gives you massive motivation to keep it up. i find if i come onhere daily i keep tp my budget if not i stray slightly.
You can touch the dust but please don't write in it !

Would you like to speak to the man in charge, or the woman who knows whats happening?

No you don't have to put up an SOA. But on the other hand it is pointless tell you that the SKY package you have has got to go.....if you don't have it in the first place?

The purpose of an SOA is so we can see where savings might be made, and to suggest these to you in case you can't see the wood for the trees so to speak

Hi there and welcome...Firstly well done on posting on here..as that would've been hard for you and secondly it must have been hard to mention your Bi -Polar disease (my son suffers with this as well )...are you claiming all the benefits you are entitled to?
My son got himself in debt the same way but has turned it around now by not having any credit cards now..as like yourself he found out it was part of his illness...so well done on recognising this...it's an important first step
People will love you whether you buy them anything or not...
You do not have to post a SOA but it does help as we can see the truer picture and may be able to help you cut back.A spending diary also helps as it's surprising where money gets frittered away also the OS boards have helped me...good luck whatever you choose
