Hi all,
I just received the following email.
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"Hi
As a result your application, I would like to invite you to attend an interview.
You will have an interview with the department manager, Edie Wilson. The interview will last about 30 min.
Please bring three reference (If available), as well as a copy of your ID, e.g. Passport, Driving License to the interview.
Please contact me on 07053500949, in order to arrange an interview
We look forward to seeing you"
Note the bad use of England!!!! :rotfl:After a previous scamming attempt I now check out every unsolicited "job offer". If you receive a similar email (usually not from a company email address but from a yahoo/gmail/hotmail or similar type of email account), try putting the email address into a search engine and see what other people have said about them. This particular email asks you to phone the number which is an 07053 prefix. Checking this out further shows:
"Anyone phoning a 07092 number from a standard BT home or business phone the caller will pay 37p per minute at peak times, 25p per minute in the evening and 12.5p per minute at weekends. Other operators and mobile phone charges will vary according to the operator. Numbers with 07053 will be charged 19.98 pence per minute from a fixed line. Mobiles are advised to check with your network operator as rates may vary."
I hope this saves you MSE readers some money.
Jim

I really do not know of anyone who would think they have been invited for an interview for a job they have not even applied.We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

I have applied for a load of jobs on-line, received 2 scam job offers and have also received an email from a friend (it appears that his email account has been hacked), with a scam work from home link in the email.
I'm not saying I fell for this trick, just trying to warn others that there are some unscrupulous con artists around preying on job seekers. It's bad enough trying to find a job without someone trying to steal money from you or get you involved with a money laundering scam.0
