Does she like something in particular? That usually forms the basis for a theme.

We had my daughters 5th birthday two weeks ago. She had a joint party with her best friend (their birthdays are 10 days apart). We hired a hall and MAD Academy provided the entertainment. We put food in party boxes (sandwiches - cheese & jam, some grapes and a bag of iced gems) and had big bowls of crisps on the tables. Decoration wise we had 2 huge pink helium 5 balloons, pink and white balloons with pink and white crepe stammers draped round the room. Plain pink table cloths, pink and purple cups and napkins and the fairy party boxes. It looked lovely.

    That any use?
    Slightly worn out mum to 3 (DS1 May 03, DS2 Feb 05, DD1 Feb 08). When i grow up i think i'll become a UN Peace keeper....

My granddaughter is 5 in a few weeks and she is having a joint party with her 3yr old brother. It will be princesses and knights. One game is hunt for Cinderellas shoe. I have made 40 bean bags to toss through the castle turrets, my son is making a cardboard castle backdrop. There will be a craft session of decorating a shield and dressing a paper doll for a place setting. My daughter is cutting on her cricut lots of princess dress up outfits for the dolls so they have choice. The boys will also get a tabard, made by me and the girls a felt princess cross and wand. In the favor bags there will be crayon wands, melting wax crayons then setting in a mould. The boys will also get crayons but not decided on a shape yet. It might just be lego men shaped crayons.

Or hire a soft play room at your local sports centre and do a buffet in the room.
