3 months post AD. Vanquis have written to sell me a card

Understand that getting a Vanquis card can help me improve my credit rating.

However, they've written to me saying I have been 'pre-selected to apply'.

Does this mean that they have already credit scored me and view me as acceptable to them?

Last thing I want to do is make my credit history worse by applying & being knocked back.

Should I just phone them to find out?

  • Nooooo!!

I am over a year after AD. I've have this "pre-selection" rubbish several times (including Vanquis), so in my naivety I applied (twice!)....and was turned down, which has probably had an adverse effect on my credit rating!

    :(

No reason not to be approved for Vanquis post discharge.

You need to be certain you've thoroughly actioned the post insolvency credit file clean up, which is a sticky on this board.

I was approved for a Vanquis card within two months of discharge because of the advice on that thread :o

I got my vanquis card around 6 months after discharge. I use regualry and pay off every month in full, as the interest is high. They have now upgraded me to a gold member after 4 years. Credit limit is stupidly high, but never used to that amount. Im lucky as ive never had a problem with them. hope this helps
